  1. Hohenfels is basically the a$s of the world but there's a lot of nature around there, hope you'll like it.

  2. I'm guessing that you´re coming here with the military. As Blue Daffodil said, most of the military/government people here live off post. The Housing Office will find you a place to live when you get here. Unfortunately, it can be up to 30 miles away from the Base. Most of the soldiers here live in Parsberg, or one of the numerous tiny communities surrounding it. If you are looking for a large house, you may have some trouble locating one. Most houses here are somewhat smaller than in America. The selection is also a bit limited, simply because the military has been consolidating and Höhenfels is one the bases that is staying. It can be a bit of Potluck when it comes to a place to live. I know people that had to look for up to two months before they found something they liked, and others have found what they wanted in a week.    Just hope for good luck, and best wishes from Höhenfels.

  3. the best housing in hohenfels is grossbissendorf. i have lived at alot of bases and this is the best and biggest so if u can and have the choice choose GROSSBISSENDORF!!!!

  4. If your married yes.  I left there a year ago.   If your single probably not going to live off post.  I really liked it there.  It will take some getting used to the small communitty and its almost like you know everyone after a little time.  You will definitly start to remember faces. Life is good out there.

  5. Most of the families in Hohenfels live off-post because the housing is small. Think it's also no problem to find a house you like (when most live off-post then they all found a house)! It's just a small town but Nürnberg, Amberg, Regensburg und Neumarkt are near.
