Is it mean to hold my hamster by the skin and fur on the back of his neck? will it hurt him? Whenever im holing him and i put him on the couch for a second he runs away, and that is the easiest way to pick him up when he does that, but when i do, he squirms around like im hurting him.

  1. it's fine.

  2. I dont think so. They are so light that it doesn't hurt them. I did it to my hamster and he was just fine.

  3. hes probably just squirming cuz he doesnt wanna be held period.

  4. I pick them up like that.  Its not hurting them

  5. My daughter does the same thing. Her hamster wont hold still when she is holding him, but then he will stop moving and then surprise! She moves again. The hamster has never bit someone. I don't think your hurting him. I think he wants you to stop holing him like that. Even the mother hamster don't carry their young like that. So have fun with your hamster. Good luck and God Bless You.

  6. its ok

  7. well only vets are supposed to use that method. cup your hands together and stoke him with your thumbs, like you are playing a video game.

  8. It doesn't hurt him its just some don't like it.Thats how dogs are to.But my dog never liked it.But some other dogs didn't mind.So it goes the same with hamsters.
