  1. FIRST STAY STILL AND HOLD YOUR BREATH

    THEN WORK YOUR WAY UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Take really deep breaths about a minute before swimming around the pool.  That helps to get rid of the CO2 and bring in alot of Oxygen.

  3. okay you wont to learn to hold your breath under water long! well i can hold mine for 1 min. and 45 secounds! okay lay your legs on the side of the pool like have the bottem part of you legs on the side of the pool (while you are inside the pool with your legs hanging over the side) and push your self under water and lay your back all the way to the side of the pool and the air will suck you to the side of the pool, while you are holding your breath try and look around underwater (make sure you wear gogles and hold your nose) and also when you hold your breath you need not to hold it in your mouth (when you look like a blowfish) instead try to hold you breath when you cheeks are flat and then the air will go down to were it needs to be, so you can have air in you lungs!!!  hope that helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  4. Just keep going under, hold your breath for as long as you can, come up, get a breath, and repeat.

  5. You need to stay calm and relax, the faster your heart beats the more you need breathe, you know when your running a race and you stop and you gasp for air? yeah its coz your not relaxed and your heart is racing. if you want to hold you breath for longer, RELAX :D

  6. Just dont try to set extreme records and overdo it, though it is great fun among youngsters and teenagers to try it.  You would never know the extent of the harm, lack of oxygen to the brain, may affect it. One gets very, very dizzy at one's limit. The air is already polluted, our style of breathing is already shallow and oxygen intake is already at minimum. Well, you may not like what i say, but the above are all facts, learned from experience. Your 45 secs is already very good, above average. It will come in handy even in emergencies such as--going underwater to recover a drowning person, or escaping from a burning or smoky building.

Cheers and take care of your health!

  7. you really have to push yourself. Like if you can do one lap without any breathes next time try 2. now obviously if you just cant do it dont kill yourself, take a breath. lol. just take a break and try again. each time you go try to hold your breathe a little longer and just keep adding until you reach two minutes. it will probably be a while before you improve THAT much but after about 2 weeks i could hold my breathe about 20 seconds longer. its more mental than physical so just talk to yourself and remind yourself of your goals over and over, so you will want it more.

  8. The technique is to distract yourself when submerged. Try diving for marbles on the bottom ( scattered ) or coins when you get more confidence. I improved when I used to snorkel and dive on the reef. The more your are distracted the longer you will dive.

Don't over do it it will come naturally.
