Holding slams WICB’s management of Caribbean cricket – Cricket News Update
West Indies' fast bowling veteran, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Anthony-Holding-c75756, criticized the top brass of West Indies Cricket board for poorly handling the sport in the region, especially its inability to manage players properly.
The 58-year-old cricketer turned commentator from Jamaica lambasted the WICB chief, Ernest Hilaire, and the current head coach of West Indies cricket team, Ottis Gibson, for the poor standards of Caribbean cricket.
"We have a chief executive, Ernest Hilaire, who thinks he owns http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 cricket…He thinks he is always right and he doesn't listen to anyone," said Holding in an interview with a British tabloid.
"http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ottis-Delroy-Gibson-c80358 needs to understand that the West Indies cricket team is not a boot camp. He needs to learn how to manage," he added further.
Holding, the right-arm fast bowler from Jamaica also said that WICB’s poor management has led to the drought of experienced players in the team. He urged the board officials to deal the players as human beings, who need respect and not as commodities.
