Holding the door open?

Question

If I am approaching a door and a woman reaches the opposite side of the door at the same time (I want to exit and she wants to enter), should I open the door from the inside and hold it open for her (with my body still on my side of the door), or open the door, step through it, and then hold it open for her?

I run in to this one a lot and I never know how to properly approach it.

Stay on the inside,quicker for her,which will make her happier. :P

Let her walk first.

always open a door for a woman before you step through. it's just the right thing to do.

I think either way is fine, it is appreciated no matter what.

Walk thru first but as you are doing so, say 'allow me'.  That way she will know your intention.

Open the door and step through it. I don't usually get into these situations.....

I think you should step through the door first so your body isn't really close to hers and blocking her way as she goes through.
