Question:

Hole in wall?

My son had a temper tantrum and was rolling around on the ground and he kicked the wall..it is about 5 inches across. What items to i need to fix it? And how much will each item cost?

  1. I would personally to ensure the spot will last would find a scrap piece of wood, does not have to be to thick about 3 inches bigger then the hole, put the piece of wood behind the hole and s***w it in place. Once done attach a piece of drywall to the wood going across the hole, once done, plaster the edges,sand the plaster once dry then paint. Hope this helps.


  2. What I did to a hole I found hidden behind a beach towel in my son's room when he left home was spray expanding foam in it. I let it cure and then used a steak knife to cut it level with the wall. I primed it and painted it the same colr and you can't tell where it was. Much easier than patching with drywall!

  3. There is a much easier method than those that have been mentioned.  First, clean up around the hole, sand down the rough paper and wallboard.  Second, get some spackling paste and a screen wall repair thing from either Lowes or Home depot.  Put on the screen and then put the spackling paste or joint compound over it, let it dry and sand it.  I would apply a second coat if I were you.
