Question:

Holes In Jeans After Use?

by  |  earlier

After wearing jeans for a few months I start getting holes in the top corners of my back pockets. Is this due to the wear or due to the washing? Top load washers aren't the easiest on clothes...

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if they had come up with anything or knew of anything that prevents these holes from happening! Thanks!

  1. its a russian conspiracy or something, have the same problem all the time, seriously though, definetly wear, especially if your always sitting on them

  2. I'm not sure, but could it be from a wallet in your back pocket?  That's all I can think of.

  3. Do you put stuff in those pockets?  Everytime you sit down or stand up, you're straining those seams.  You might be able to use some iron on patches on the inside to reinforce the fabric.  But if you stop putting things in them, that would help the most.

  4. The problem is...... that you are probably unaware of the things that you put inside your back pockets, if you have a tick item like a wallet or money clip,  tools or a cell phone  that you have the habit to put on the back pocket and you sit in the car the points will poke holes or tear the tack bar that is in the jeans or any other pant. So if you recall what your habits are perhaps you could avoid having this problem from recurring again. When you wash your jeans  wash them inside out to prolong they life and hold the colour ,and don't forget to pull the zipper up and turn the pockets this way the inside will be washed properly.

  5. It's because they get worn a lot in that area. If you notice that the stitching and fabric in that area is doubled up. After constant rubbing and wear that's what happens. It has nothing to do with how you wash it. Hope that helps!

  6. If the tag says "Made in China" that usually will explain why things wear out, because they use inferior material! I used to have jeans that I would wear constantly that would last for years! Now any jeans I have that are made in China (or shoes for that matter) wear out very quickly.

I shop at Goodwill stores to find older jeans that say made in USA on them. A good tip when shopping for jeans in general, look at the bottom edge of the cuff on the pants. If it looks thin or worn or frayed, don't buy the jeans, it shows how bad or good the material will wear.

  7. Also if you use box clutters this can cause holes. My man gets holes in his jeans from having them inside the pockets all the time.
