Holes from cavity still visible even after filling?

i got some fillings done a couple days ago and i noticed on my one tooth i can see the holes still? is it supposed to be like that? i thought they were supposed to fill it?

  1. Yes, normally you shouldn't see "holes" in your teeth if they were filled.  On the other hand, sometimes what may appear to be a hole, is just an indentation and may be part of normal tooth anatomy; in which case it may not need to be filled.

    If there was a filling in there before or it is sensitive, you definitely should get it rechecked.  Or, if you just want peace of mind, it won't take the dentist but a few minutes to take a look.


  2. there is not suppose to be a hole. Maybe the filling did not stick. Call and make another appointment to get it filled again.
