Question:

Holga/Concerts?

I was wondering if taking a Holga to a concert would be a good idea. Would the pictures be good quality? Also, what film kind would be the best? (I have Fuji Pro 400 H ISO 400, Kodak Portra 400 VC/NC, and Fuji Reala ISO 100).

Thank you.

  1. Since stage lighting is good enough to shoot video, if you can find a colour film with ISO 800, you should be able to get some shots.

But without knowing the actual meter readings on the stage, the f/stop your LOMO camera has (I heard f/8 but who really knows?) and the shutter speed (1/60th?) it will be a crapshoot.

  2. This is a joke, right? If you're looking for "good quality" the last thing you should consider is a Holga.

It's not really a good idea at all from a technical standpoint but if that's the look you're going for artistically, go for it. ISO 400 may be a bit slow depending on the setting of the concert; bring a flash for good measure.
