The Bayern Munich defender insisted that the 2-0 win at home will bring the Bavarians’ season back on track and will give the players a lot of confidence.
The German international expressed his delight on the team’s brilliant performance against Schalke and stated that his side was up for the task. He claimed that Bayern created great chances throughout the course of 90 minutes and
dominated the game with most of the possession.
Badstuber, however, admitted that the team could have scored an early goal and made the situation even easier for themselves. He stated that the team will surely get a lot of confidence from the win and is elated to secure the
second place back from Borussia Monchengladbach. The Foals dropped two points in their league game against Hamburg on Friday.

had dropped points, so we were determined to recover second place, and we’ve done it,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, manager Jupp Heynckes was ecstatic with Bayern’s performance. He admitted that the Bavarians dominated the proceedings and deserved to win the game. The former Bayer Leverkusen boss admitted that Schalke had
no chance as they were unable to create any chances.
The tactician remained confident that the Munich giants will be able to give Borussia Dortmund a run for their money for the Bundesliga title in the remaining games of the season.
“It was a solid team display. We weren’t so smart in front of goal, but we dominated the match and kept a clean sheet. It's a result which shows us the way to go as a team,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich have now climbed to second place on the Bundesliga standings table and are now four points adrift of leaders, Borussia Dortmund. They will take on Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena on Saturday, March 3.
