The Bayern Munich defender is enjoying his partnership with Mats Hummels in the heart of defence and is hopeful of consistent performances.

in the starting line-up in a tournament of this stature but is delighted that it has paid off.
The Bavarian insisted that Hummels had a very good season with Borussia Dortmund, winning the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal, which is why he is high on confidence. He stated that there were many people who doubted the partnership
but the player is happy that they have been able to prove themselves at the highest stage.
“We're [Badstuber and Hummels] both guys who know the game, who know football and how to defend. So our relationship on the pitch is good. We played together one year, in the Under 15-squad, he [Hummels] as striker and me in midfield,
so there wasn't much practice,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the 23-year old played down claims that Per Mertesacker’s time with the national team is over. He insisted that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 man has immense experience and is still recovering from the ankle injury he suffered
before the Euro 2012.
“He had a bad injury and could not play before [the European Championship], but he's got the experience and is an important figure in the team. It's definitely not the end of an era,” he concluded.
