Holi!! festival of colours!

Question

i know its a really long time until the fest of colours in india (march 11,2009) but i'm starting to save now to be a part of it. india has always fascinated me with its rich and diverse culture. anyone who's read this been a part of it? how was it?! which parts of the country have the most fun with it?
