Question:

Holiday Cottage France?

My family and I are planning a holiday in France next year but I am somewhat overwhelmed by all the internet sites to trawl through while looking for something suitable. CAN YOU HELP? Here are our basic requirements...

Needs to be tranquil - rural not in the town.

Needs to be accessible for rambles, forest walks etc

Needs to have at least 3 bedrooms and to sleep at least 5 people.

Preferably with wi-fi access but not essential.

If you don't know of a cottage/gite/chateaux could you please advise on suitable areas in France. We wouldn't want to be too far from ferry as we've never been to france before...up to about an hour in the car from the ferry would be about right.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

  1. There are actually few relevant websites offering a choice of accomodation.

The Gites de France are the ones with the most offers:

    http://www.gites-de-france.com/gites/uk/...

There are specific websites for every region of France offering more details: to find them just type: "gites de france + the name of the region" in Google. For instance, here is the one for Normandy:
