Holiday destination ideas in Australia for the younger adult

Any ideas for holiday destinations within Australia. Looking for a relaxing type place with good nightlife and younger people. Any Ideas?

I would try the Central Coast (The Entrance / Gosford)

or

Port Stephens (Nelson Bay)

You should check out www.hotels2go.com.au as they have lots of good deals. Some of them even include your meals with your stay. They launched last week and have grown a lot since then but seem to be getting about 10-20 new hotels each day - I'd bookmark them if I was you - happy hunting!

Those are the old people towns..

If you want to avoid the main cities, Sydney, Melbourne or Gold Coast then how about a regional city like Wollongong/Shellharbour, popular holiday destination, gorgeous beaches, ok nightlife but close enough to travel to Sydney, and hot young people.
