I recently went to Australia with my family and we went to Sydney (of course - pretty much obligated to) and Queensland (Cairns, Brisbane....Great Barrier Reef....beaches which were AMAZINGLY beautiful (bondi, too) amusement parks etc etc etc) But we skipped Tasmania.....why don't many people go there? We loved Australia and the people there so much we've decided to go back....I've heard 'Tassie' is very green and apparently 'Salamanca Markets' is the biggest and best market in Aus? And is Hobart is as good as people say? WHAT DO YOU THINK???

  1. Getting there is a little harder than other places, but it's well worth a visit. I'd go in summer when you can take advantage of the very long days. It's not all that big so you can see alot fairly quickly.

  2. Tasmania is beautiful! Why would anyone skip it =/ ?!?!

  3. Yes you did miss out on one of the most beautiful and awe inspiring places places on earth but as your coming back come and visit Tassie.

Hobart is a great place to base yourself, lots of things to do and see within an hour or so drive, Port Arthur, Bruny Island, Fryecinet peninsula, maria Island many more. If you have time book into the overland track 4-5 days walk but so worth it.

Salamanca is fun, local produce ( the best fresh apples and berries in season and really cheap), crafts - unfortunately a bit of junk too

  4.          You missed the best part of Australia.
