We are planning a big shin dig in Fiji April 2010. Can anyone give advice on Fiji and resort? Looking for all-inclusive. Have googled but sometimes advice from a person is better.

  1. I have been to Fiji a couple of times and can highly recommend Likuliku resort and Turtle Island (if your budget will allow it).  Like someone else said, I would stay away from Denarau even though there are lots of nice resorts there.  The beach is c**p and you can't go snorkelling right off shore like you can on most of the islands.  It is all a bit artificial but it appeals to the golf set.  Check out trip advisor to see how the various islands/resorts rate  (peope write reviews about their own experiences there so you get a much more reliable appraisal than reading hotel's own promotional material.  A lot of places are couples only in Fiji.  They have a lots of places that have loads of kids as well so you should decide before you go which you would prefer.  I personally prefer no ankle biters.  I am sure you will have fun regardless.

  2. Sorry I Can't Help I Was 2 Years Old When I Went 2 Fiji :D

  3. I have stayed in 2 areas in fiji. One on Denarau Island. There are several hotels and resorts there and very close to Nadi. Ideal place to stay You drive onto the island there is a causeway with a Bridge to it. Absolutely loved it . Then we went to the Out Rigger on The Coral Coast, Fabulousand wonderful Breakfast. Beautiful grounds surounding the hotel . we stayed in a Beurre amonst the tropical palms next to the sea and close to the restaurant and Pool. Forget about Suva not worth going there in my eyes. I believe the Beach comber resort is great for the young ones . and I can't tell you about the the other islands .

  4. I stayed at Malolo Island www.maloloisland.com/ and it was absolutely amazing, its a smallish resort about 30 rooms and the hospitality and food was fantastic!  Its not one of those 5 star resorts where you have to dress up to go to breakfast but still nice enough to enjoy it.  I was waking up every morning and climbing out of my bed straight into the hammock outside right on the beach.  All of the rooms are along the beach.

One of the things i loved there was the fact they had different activites available every day but they werent ones that took up your whole day and they usually were only for a few hours.

I also stayed on the mainland, i wouldnt recommend staying there at all, you cant swim in the ocean and unless you want to just stay in a resort and not leave which to me isnt the point of going to Fiji then the islands are definitly the way to go.  They are just so beautiful why wouldnt you spend a little more to be on them then the mainland.

You will have a great time im very jealous : )
