If you mean South Chailey in East Sussex, then I would advise visiting nearby historical county town Lewes, steeped in history and local tradition.  From Lewes, it's then a 20min train ride to Brighton, the south coast's most famous seaside city, with a vast variety of restaurants, bars, pubs, clubs, shops, galleries, theatres, museums, amusements and other places of interest.  Brighton has a diverse and vibrant range of cultural events and entertainments on offer day and night and is also an excellent place to find information on what's going on in the surrounding area.
