  1. Depends which time of the year but eg in winter the Alps are a must. It also depends how much time you have. In the warmer season Luzern,Bern,Zürich,Lausanne,Lugano and their surroundings are worth a visit. Pls be more specific what you are looking for...

  2. Hi !

Like other people explained before, Switzerland is divided in 4 parts : german one (Bern, Basel, Zurich...) the biggest, french ons (Geneva, Lausanne, Neuchatel), italian one (Lugano) and "romanche" one (no big cities...). In each of this part, you speak a different language (the "romanche" is a mix of the 3 other languages...).

And so. I'm frenche, and I live really close to the french part of Switzerland (10 km). And the best place for me, is really Geneva, the Geneva's lake, and swiss alpen.

You can do everithing : visiting the city (day and night), swimming, sailing on the lake, or walking,...

And it's a really beautiful place, with often sun in summer !

    Come on !

  3. Heii, im from Switzerland, and i live in Interlaken. I saw a lot of different places, and Im sure you will have a great time in Switzerland.

If yolu come from  the US, you should book your flight to Zürich. Zürich is a great city. It's one of the biggest...it's a really good city for shopping. Another place you really have to see is Bern. Bern is the capital of Switzerland. It's not that big as Zürich but it's great. There are a lot of things to see, like the "Münster", the "Rathshaus" and Museums like the "Naturhistorisches Museum".

You shoul also go to Geneve. It's really different than the other cities, it's near France and you speak French there.

But you shoul also go to some places in the mountains, not just to tourist places or big cities. You should come to Interlaken. Yes, Interlaken is quite a tourist city, but from there you can go to every other places. It's near the mountains, and it's not really a city, there are just a few shops. From Interlaken you can easily make some day trips to the Jungfrau region....!

If you plan to go to Switzerland you should travel with the train around. The train is pretty fast and he stops every where. Its also pretty cheap. Just look under www.sbb.ch

Switzerland is a nice country, but it's also good to make a Europe-trip, not just to Switzerland. You can travel from Spain, to France and then to Switzerland, and from there to Italy and Germany...!

So, have fun on the trip...!

  4. If you can't go to France, Italy and Germany on the same trip go to Switzerland.

Zurich/Zug/Lucerne - Are very German, rich and beautiful.

Lugano - All the flare of Italy including some great food and sights.

Bern - Truly Switzerland a feeling of nationalism exists.  Wonderful place to visit.  Fancy Free Lifestyle...

Geneva and Lake Geneva "Riveara" - As french as french can be.  Highly recommend taking the train across from Geneva to the Chateau Chillon. (Including Montreaux, Vivey, etc)

Other cities can be provided upon request...  One should hit the alps too Shiltorn and Matterhorn.

The train system is VERY VERY accomidating and quick and reliable, unlike the Italian train system.  Other great locals are in the Rhine region (ie Schaffhausen, Basel, etc.)  Also, St. Gallen is nice and if you are over that was go to the boutique country of Lichenstien!!
