  1. Don't know where is your location. But I been to Lake Como (Como Lago) in Italy. I suggest you go there. Go to yahoo search for Como Lago, you will find some useful info.

  2. I live in the lake district and theres a tonne of them, also remember that lake windermere is actually in bowness-on-windermere technically, so dont think you'll be right next to the lake in windermere. Windermere will be packed with tourists and really isn't the best lake in the district anyway, not many locals think it's a nice place and drug and crime rates are high, try coniston, it's much nicer, much less busy, theres more local shops that arent tourist orientated, less mainstream hotels and traffic and the scenery basically takes a dump on lake windermere. It's not much further along, about 20 minutes drive.

Just google accommodation and loads will come up, theres also a letting holiday agent I know of called 'lake lovers' try their website, they specialise in lets for holidaying couples.

Also the night lifes pretty bleak, and in the one all night serving bar in windermere/bowness you need to be a local with papers to get into as tourists have caused so many problems. Try Kendal or Kirkby Lonsdale for a nice meal or night out.

  3. 'The Old England' by Lake Windamere, is a beautiful Hotel.

  4. The Lake district is busy in August but the best places are in the North. Windremere and Ambleside are choked with tourists all the time.  Keswick will be busy but not as much.  There is a lovely pub Royal Oak at Braithwaite near Keswick which has nice rooms and hass great ale and food.  They have a website

we stayed there and had a lovely time:

The walking is great in the northern lakes.  If the weather is good you might try Scafell Pike from Borrowdale.  RedPike from Buttermere and Skiddaw of course.  Blencathra and Helvelyn are also within striking distance

    Have a nice time

  5. Try lakes cottage holidays

Its hard to go wrong in the lake district, it is all so scenic with plenty of walking countryside and places of interest to visit.  Windermere and Ambleside provide a good place to stay with plenty to do, likewise anywhere near Ullswater or Coniston are also very pleasant.

    Happy holidaying :)

  6. There is to many to mention , try checking  the Cumbrian tourist boards web site for details . I live in Cumbria and it really is a beutiful place to visit, Lake windermere and Keswick are two very popular places to take a look at , hope you enjoy your stay.

  7. Lake Windermere is really lovely, but the others too. I'm sorry, but I don't have any links, but you should find some on google. There are many pubs which offer accomodation too.
