Holiday pay in the building trade?

my son has been employed for 7 months with a small bilding contractors he has a wage slips and is great timekeeper but one of the guys says that they do not get holiday pay but he says he is self employed but mu son isnt as he works for the guy who owns the copmpany so if my son pays tax and nat insurance surely he should be getting holiday pay can anyone let me know as i am hearing differnet views from a lot of people

  1. If he is self employed he probably won't get holiday pay.

    If he is an employee of the company then he probably will.


  2. Just like there is the minimum wage, there is actually a minimum holiday entitlement. See www.hmrc.gov.uk for confirmation.
