Holiday video problem. Please help. I need a crib sheet I think!?

Story so far....camcorder is JVC. Don't like their movie software, it has an editor then a completely separate programme for burning and the end result looks abit 'twee'. Downloaded a converter as JVC files are MOV. Converted MOV to wmv. Made a lovely home movie with Movie Maker only to find I can't save it to a CD as it's too big! It wont recognise a DVD.

I really need one programme where I can do everything all in one go. Been on this ALL day now with still nothing to show for it.

Also, these editing programmes aren't necessarily 'burners' are they?

I just want to show my home movies on the telly to my friends........... please help. I know there are loads of clever computer people out there.

Do your Friends a favor.  Go find a video editing software package that can read a WMV file and edit it down.  All people hate home movies.  Make a snappy 5 to 8 minute after editing and they will love it.
