does anyone know of any nice cottages to rent in the uk that will allow accomodation for dogs?in the lakes somewhere or somewhere like that.

We stayed in a little cottage in Staveley, in the lake district, with our dog. It wasn't posh, but it was clean and comfortable, and cheap too. The views were to die for, and the owners were lovely. We plan to go back this year, as our youngest daughter lives nearby, and it was a perfect base for travelling around the Lake District.

The cottage was called "Garden End"and  I would reccomend it highly.

Yes, we always find a good deal with Welcome Cottages and most of their properties allow dogs.  In fact they have a deal on whereby if you book through Dogs Trust, they will make a donation to them...see the link for more details...

I have never been to the lakes so don't have the answer to that, but if you go onto a website for the Lake District it will give you addresses of holiday cottages , or they will post brochures to you. We are going to Cornwall and there is a brochure called something like Cornish Country Cottages. they tell you which ones accept dogs.

Start by typing Lake District into your search box and go from there.
