Holidays 2009 - Free child places, book now or hang on???

Question

I always book my holidays over the net usually about a month before we go away (Me, Wife & 2 Kids)....

But the lure of free child places is getting my attention!!!

So what's best...Wait or Book Now for them all important child places!!!

Whats the cheapest option?

It's one of those catch22 situations.... if you book it now something better will come up but if you don't you'll wish you had!!

Wait.  There's always a late bargain out there and you're better off earning interest on your money in your own bank account than allowing a travel agent to have it!  I'd also suggest not looking at prices now, that way you'll not be disappointed if I'm wrong!  Ha ha

We were looking @ Cyprus last year about sept. and their was a free child place but by the time we made our minds up the offer had finished (went up by over £400) we were gutted.

But @ christmas time the offer, with the same travel agent, going to the same place @ the same time reapeared and was about £20 cheaper than in sept.

So in my opinion they "give" away free child places a few @ a time and when sales fall they re-introduce them to boost sales.

EDIT - someone had said better off holding on to your money but you don't pay the balance till 12 weeks before you leave so if you book early you still don't pay the balance till 12weeks before you leave.

Also i tried to book my holiday myself online but the flights alone for the 3 of us cost £100 more than our "package" holiday which include flights,accomodation & transfers, a good deal we think.
