  1. sure, i go on holiday with my kids and dog, you can take him to:

    a haven site:

    *they have dog friendly caravans

*they all have beaches nearby, our dog loves to go for walks on the beach, meeting other dogs (he's a friendly dog, he doesn't fight with other dogs), he loves going for a doggy paddle in the sea, he even you just throwing a ball on the beach so he can run through the sand to catch it

*we also had a bbq and he loved the burger and sausage we gave him

    camping:

*when i went with our dog i brought a mini dog tent so he could get into the camping spirit and a dog blanket/sleeping bag what zipped up so he could be wrapped in it although he didn't like it zipped up, and usual stuff what he needs i.e foods, bowls etc

*he also came with us on hikes, he loved stretching his legs, we even let him have his lead off when we got off the path so he could explore, and he joined us swimming in the lake, doing his doggy paddle =] i love that - WE EVEN LET HIM JOIN US IN CYCLING!!! we brought a little trailer thing what little kids go in and you attach it to the end of your bike, and he sat in it

*and we also had another bbq at camping, he had a burger, 2 sausages and a chicken wing =O greedy!

i've done both of these with by dog, he loves it!

  2. I refuse to leave my dog (little Yorkie) at home when we go on holiday.  We usually rent out a cottage in the countryside (but close to the sea) where we can take him.

This year we are going to Polperro in Cornwall.  There are many places to stay which are dog friendly, indeed who welcome dogs.  Many caravan site apparently do also, but I find renting out cottages so you have the best of both worlds the best way.

    :)

  3. Type in "pets welcome" in your search bar.  It should give a list of places where pets are welcomed, and there is a brochure/catalogue of holiday places throughout the UK where you can go with your pet (cats and dogs primarily) but remember that there will be other pet owners there as well - so you'll need to be sure your dog is well behaved!

A lot of camping and caravanning grounds are happy to accomodate pets.

  4. Right, here goes.

First thing to check out is the beach.  I suggest you do this first, because believe it or not, some councils do not allow dogs on the beach.

    Let me explain a bit.

The council do not own the beach, but they do own the foreshore, that is the land which gives access to the beach and, if they say not dogs, there's nothing we can do.

    But, no worries.

Below is a list of all the UK beaches you have ever wanted to know about.

This next link gets you a load of links about dogs and beaches or dogs not being allowed on beaches.  The National Trust do not allow dogs on their private beaches.

Okay - in this next section we're gonna look for hotels/guest houses who take dogs - and believe me this is the land of dog lovers and there are simply oodles of such hotels.

This next link gets you a page load and beyond of where you can take your dog on holiday - dog friendly hotels etc.

It's amazing to think that Patti Page got this up somewhere into the top then when we had this sort of thing going on. . . .

. . . .hope you find a good long sandy beach and a good hotel.

There's a famous American comedian who lives here in London, name of Rich Hall.  He once described how his dog ran away from his Wyoming ranch and it took the dog 3 days to disappear into the distance.  Wyoming flatter than Holland.
