Question:

Holiness --- why is it seldom expected of Christians today?

Are only the Holiness people (Pentecostals) concerned with living holy lives?

The early Christians called themselves "saints," which literally means "holy ones."

Has the concept of Christian holiness been lost in a world of relative morality?

  3. Thank you so much for this question.

The reason why the Christians today are still sinners even if they claim to believe in God, is all because of a half a gospel the devil has propogated since the time of Constantine in the 4th century. Proir to this the early church members were called holy, blameless, sinless and righteous saints of God. But today they are not!!!

God commands us that we must become holy just as He is Holy. But the Christians today tell God in His face that they can't become holy, and that He is a liar.

I have been preaching this original gospel the early church believed in for about 2 years here on Yahoo, but few listen and obey. Much like in Noahs time when only 8 righteous were saved from the flood. God said that many are called, but only few are chosen. The obedient ones who obey His gospel enter into the kingdom of God, but the disobedient will all perish, for no sinner can ever enter His heaven.

So what is this gospel of the early church called?

It is none other that the one Jesus was speaking about in John 3:5. The gospel truth of the water (Jesus baptism) and His blood on the Cross. We need to fully understand THIS gospel truth and believe in it with the heart. The half a gospel of only the blood on the Cross mocks God and makes Him out to be a liar (1 John 5:6-11). Therefore  many Christian sinners will be standing in front of God on that great day of judgement protesting their innocence (Matthew 7:21-23). These people claim that they will remain sinners until they get to heaven by saying their repentance prayers trying to get rid of their sins...is this at all possible when Jesus came to take it all away? God who is a just God will pay the wages for sin. So dont try and arrive their with your sin. Its here on earth right now that you need to get rid of it by believing in His gospel of the water and the Spirit. This is His righteousness, and when you believe in this gospel you will be made into a righteous saint of God.

  4. because people believe those principles were only for biblical times-false!

no, i am sure there are others

    yes, that is correct.

    YES!!!! Very much so.

  5. Without insult, the Catholic church removed the status of Saint from the people and deemed it only worthy of those that meet human guidelines.  After Martin Luther the term came back into being but not like it was.

  6. 1 Peter 1:14-16 says Gods people must be holy.

  7. You're right. There's pretty much no such thing as modern-day saints besides the pope. And I very much doubt that he's ever done anything supernatural.

I'm not even talking 'bout Mother Theresa. That was a cruel *****.

  8. The early Christians were very separate from the world.

Many churches find it easier to lower the standards, this makes the life of a Christian more tolerable.  No desire to live God's way today, just enough to go to heaven.

Sad that some don't know the Groom whom they think they will be married to in eternity.

  9. every living breathing christian should live a holy life before God and their family and their self

  10. Only the self-defined "true Christians" are not concerned with holiness.

In their misunderstanding of Paul they believe works are without merit and worthless, so they have no reason to pursue holiness.  In fact, they construe from Paul that we cannot be holy and will never be holy, and it would be a denial of Christ's sacrifice to aspire to be holy.

But most Christians are aware of the opposite doctrine in the gospel of Matthew and the letters of Peter, John and James.  Whether they succeed in pursuing holiness -- that's another matter.

  11. Christians are still called to holiness in this day and age. it is preached all the time from many pulpits and not just from the Cattholics (of which i am one). but todays life styles seem to be preached louder. there's shame in that. there are so many people being called upon to be saints but so many cannot seem to hear the call.

  12. it is expected of Christians God expects it
