Hi There!!! Thanks for looking.

I have been a holistic practitioner for 19 years and am seeking to change direction towards treating animals. Does anyone know where i can find information on the law regarding this practice and also any additional qualifications i may need to take to offer these modalities to non human clients. Many Thanks.

  1. courses are offered in Vetenary osteopathy or vetenary chiropractic. These are aimed at horses and dogs. Some require you to have the relevant training in humans and others do not.

You can also do courses on cranial therapy in hourses and dogs and bowen therapy.

The law is unclear about what titles to use and currently in the UK these industries are largley unregulated (consequently that standard of training is very varied).

Most courses are aimed at treating horses and dogs.

If you wanted to specialise in other species you may find that difficult without a vetinary qualification.

  2. Contact your local vets they may know good luck :-)

  3. There are a growing number of therapists offering holistic treatments for animals, especially things such as acupuncture, homeopathy etc. Have noticed a few alternative treatment for animal websites around (just don't recall them specifically at the moment). Do a web search for them, and from there find a few practitioners already treating animals, then can contact them to ask.
