Question:

Holistic alternative to an e***a?

Is there some less invasive/disgusting and more holistic approach to clean out one's intestines other than an e***a?

Eating fiber and staying hydrated is great, but I've read that most "healthy" people have dried matter that is harmful to their health.

This is also a  nice herbal cleanser

I also like this tea, but do not use it for longer than three weeks without a break.

    Smooth Move senna leaf tea

    To your health!

  3. Colon-cleansing programs and enemas disrupt the balance of fluids and electrolytes, causing dehydration and salt depletion. Long-term or excessive use of such programs can lead to problems such as anemia, malnutrition and heart failure.

Your intestines are meant to have a natural balance, like every other part of your body. If you feel they aren't functioning as they should, increase the amount of raw fibrous vegetables you consume, and drink plenty of filtered water.

All you need is a big bag of baby carrots, and you'll see a difference (ew!) tomorrow.

  4. I use Dr Shutlz  bowel cleanse.. it comes in a powder or capsules.. I prefer the capsules.. you do it for 5 days.. Look for it at herbdoc.com.. It is the best one I have tried.. if you are interested have them send you a catalog.. Very good information in it... you will find a phone number on the website.. I would put it on here, but someone will have my answer removed.. they do it every time..

  5. Undertake this under the guidance of a qualified health practitioner.  Enemas aren't the worst, but you should never do anything, particularly without proper guidance, that you're not comfortable with.

Read more, evaluate the sources, proceed cautiously.

  6. I've answered another question--use Daily Fiber by Yerba Prima (it's fiber, a prebiotic), fermented soy, dairy or tea products to generate more good bacteria in your gut.  Cut out all the bread, sugar, white flour, etc. to lessen the load on your system.  I've just started eating better, reducing bread due to the calories, and I've really cleaned out very well.  Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables to get your intestines to expand and pulse properly--you'll see the difference!

  7. i use oxy powder it comes in capsule form. it has worked great for me for the last three years. and now that I'm pregnant  it's safe  to still use.

  8. "I've read that most 'healthy' people have dried matter that is harmful to their health"

You read something FALSE.  This is a lie that is told to scare people into thinking they need enemas or colon cleansing or some other nonsense.  It is NOT TRUE, you do NOT need an e***a or any sort of "cleanse".
