Are the holistic products for glaucoma valid or are they scams?

Here is a link to them: http://glaucoma-options.com/

As you know, medical doctors have a bad opinion of any holistic approach to medicine.

What is your opinion? Any help would be appreciated.

  1. I have glaucoma. Had it for at least 20 years. Use marijuana to control the killer headaches and pressure problems. My ophthalmologist recommended it to me-against the law in my state but the best remedy for the problem. Medical doctors don't want you to cure yourself-why would they? Who will pay the big bucks for them to see you if you fix yourself? How would the prescription drug companies survive if you took herbs which have NO SIDE EFFECTS instead of the chemical poisons dispensed by doctors who know you'll be back to get some other medicine for the side effects caused by the first drug you took.

  2. Do what your medical doctor says first, glaucoma is a serious condition. If you want to use holistic products simultaneously I don't see a problem with that although in my opinion if those treatments were as effective as they claimed they would be incorporated into evidence-based medicine.

  3. from a holistic web site:

"Natural remedies can be used alongside medical care and may slow the development / prevent the disease and we prioritise the following remedies."

They don't advocate "instead of medical care".
