Holland Christian High School conquers 200 yard freestyle relay crown in Michigan
Holland Christian High School claimed the Girl’s 200 yard freestyle relay title after an impressive swim at the 2011 High School State Championships, held from November 18-19, in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
The team of Holland Christian High School involving Kaylie Wierda, Ashlee Sall, Kelsey Weener and Sydney Asselin demolished their rivals, Cranbrook Kingswood and East Grand Rapids by claiming the finishing divider in a winning time of 1 minute and 38.43
seconds to notch the Girl’s 200 yard freestyle relay title.
After the race, the quarter of Cranbrook Kingswood including Milon Crawford, Madeline Montgomery, Emme Reasoner and Lara Kokubo claimed silver medal by thrashing the finishing wall in an impressive mark of 1 minute and 38.53 seconds. In the meantime, East
Grand Rapids’ team of Emily Lundquist, Amber Luke, Meredith Clark and Anna Stephens grabbed third place honours in a time of 1 minute and 39.16 seconds.
The group of four athletes of Detroit Country Day including Maggie Pyett, Amy Sun, Maureen MacLean and Mary MacLean got fourth position by hitting the finishing fence in a time of 1 minute and 41.00 seconds. In addition, the fifth place honours went to the
squad of Alma High School involving Natalie Walsh, Jennifer Wheeler, Kaleigh Kovac and Lillian Vandemark in a time of 1 minute and 41.04 seconds.
Plainwell High School’s team including Megan Vanderboon, Teresa Thiel, Lindsay Wiederhold and Mallory Comerford earned sixth place honours by thrashing the finishing barrier in a time of 1 minute and 41.58 seconds. The seventh place went to Hamilton High
School’s group of Erica Ruffner, Cortni Ritter, Madelyn Klenk and Stephanie Johnston in a time of 1 minute and 41.77 seconds.
Last, but not the least, the eighth place went to Pontiac Notre Dame Prep’s quartet of Stephanie Rutila, Emily Kaye, Kaleigh Mullen and Marin Mclnerney in a time of 1 minute and 42.69 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Girl’s 200 yard freestyle relay B final heat was claimed by Bay City John Glenn in a winning time of 1 minute and 42.13 seconds. Grand Rapids Christian High settled at second spot in a time of 1 minute and 42.23 seconds, while Dundee High
School was placed at third position in a finishing mark of 1 minute and 42.82 seconds.
