Holland Vs Mexico Ryan Babel gearing to go
Mexico started off their dreams to the South Africa with a World Cup warm up match against England on 24th of May with a bittersweet loss to the English football side by three goals to one. This was a performance many will say is dismal but that was just what the Mexicans wanted ,to test the water where they are deepest and are running the fastest. Their opponents of choice were England who by far are a much classy and an experienced team, this exposed the strengths of the Mexican side and they are meeting Holland with only a victory in mind and nothing less.
As expected they kept the English keeper on his toes throughout the match with Carlos Vela threatening to score more than once and had his shot saved by the English keeper. Carlos Salcido attempted to score, although his shot hit the post .Mexico showed they can capitalize on weak points well when Franco pulled one back when the English defender failed to clear the ball from the line.
Another talent that got displayed during the match is that of the Mexican keeper Oscar Perez who denied one of the best strikers in the world Wayne Rooney a chance to score by turning his header over the bar. Mexico took time to control the ball and seemed secure and collected when they had the ball in their hands. They were though, no match to England’s masterpieces. Their defense worked the hardest and at some points seemed to have England in the leash. This goes far to explain how much power and potential the Mexican side has.
Both Mexico and Netherlands are in the world cup finals in South Africa and are sharpening their best for the world most prestigious football show. Mexico showed real football in Wembley with a possession of 66% and produced 23 three shots with 9 being on goal. That is very impressive and the Dutch should watch out for them.
The last meeting saw Netherlands edge out them Mexicans with a goal, much could have changed. New talent ha s cropped up in the Mexican side and this clash is going to be one that worthy watching. The last time these two sides met, Netherlands won by 2 goals to 1. At their current form and stature Mexico is a thorny opponent. Netherlands is ranked by FIFA at respected fourth position and they have skill set to remain or even go higher. Mexico are in 17th position and their performance at Wembley stadium made many people respect them more that they did before.
Netherland has not played any match recently and they are regrouping since their 2-1 victory over USA which saw the US star Botenegra pull consolation goal in the dying minute. Mexico recent showdown in Wembley was epic and good indicator of how much they have advanced in their on- pitch prowess. Coach Aguirre has earned his credit for bringing Mexico to the world stage, he has managed to assemble a beautiful team that is talented and has great chemistry. This showdown in Netherlands is going one of the closest encounter in all the World Cup warm ups. Mexico has registered multiple victories in the recent matches winning over Angola, Chile and many more teams.
The only worry for the Holland squad is Ryan Babel, Bayern Munich champions league finalist. Arjen Robben ,Mark van Bommel and Wesley Sneijder showed up in the camp late due to their Champions league appearance but they look poised to play for the Dutch side.
Betting Tips
Bookies are offering odds of about 1.55 for the Dutch team and with them at home, anything can happen. A draw is on about 3.80 and this goes on to tell you that the Mexicans are in full contention in this match. A win seems quite farfetched for the Dutch men with a win pegged at 5.23, considering the form the Mexicans are playing very well, it will be unwise to wage against them but with a team of the class of Netherlands, things could go either ways.
