  1. Not sure what your question is but a "repositioning" cruise is one where the cruise ship does an atypical cruise itinerary to ports it does not usually do in that order.  They do this for the specific purpose of moving the ship from one itinerary area to another.  For example.  If the ship normally cruises the CAribbean during the winter ths ship may have a repositioning cruise trought the Panama canal to Seattle or Vancouver Canada for the start of the Alaska cruise season in May.   Or it may reposition a ship from Europe or South America to the Caribbean for the summer cruise season. In both cases the ship will make port stops just like a normal cruise.

At any rate, its a one of a kind cruise itineray and may be a good price as they are really just trying to fill the ship while they move it.  Holland America is a great line; generally has older people, but great food service and staff.

  2. Guess you're asking what a repositioning cruise is?

It is when the ships goes from one schedule to another. Like after a season in Alaska the ship goes to the Caribbean for a season of cruises there. Basically it is when the ship changes its home port.
