Is it true that in New Zealand there was food poisoning caused by hollandaise sauce ?

  1. Hollandaise sauce is made with egg which is whisked over a pan of simmering water...not necessarily "cooking" the egg. Mine has always been pretty well cooked by the time I get the proper consistency. Raw egg can = food borne illness to little ones or those with weak immune systems.

    The best Hollandaise in my opinion comes from the package of Knorr Hollandaise Sauce Mix. You just add butter and milk. NO possible food poisoning there!!!


  2. I searched and searched online and found nothing specific. I did find lots of articles that said you can get food poisoning from hollandaise sauce. Not much help though I don't think.
