Holly wood themed party?

Question

im having a hollywood themed party, and have no idea how to decorate! any suggestions that arent to pricey? or make at home ideas. we thought of doing the walk of fame outside my house with stars and our names but thats about it. and the party is on thursday. HELP!

you can make stars out of tin foil, make posters out of glitter and drawing tools, and make seltzer juice.

Depending on what era you're working with, try printing out pictures of famous stars and placing them at your tables on the back of chairs or use them for placemats.  Roll out a red carpet and go to your local Movie Rental place and ask them if they have any extra posters of movies that you could have.  We have used this idea and they are usually happy to help.  Pick a color theme, red/blk, gold/blk, blk/silver and work with those.  You can usually go online and search up Hollywood pictures, print them out and make your own banner of Hollywood Memories.  Hope that helps.

You can cut simple shapes out of two different colors of construction paper to make movie-related decorations. What you want to do is get the silhouette of the object and simplify the details using a contrasting color.

Some ideas for making your guests feel glamorous:

Buy a silky flat sheet from Marshalls or a department store. Drape it over a couch. Put a bright lamp on the floor pointing towards the couch and shine its light so that it falls where your guests' face will be. If you have or can borrow a potted palm, put it in back of the couch. Have one, two, or three guests sit on the couch and pose like a VIP, and take a digital photo of them. Print out the photo and place it in a cheap plastic frame for them to take home as a souvenir.

Or use the lamp where you have your sidewalk stars, and have them pose for photos there. Tack up a plain white sheet behind the posing area, and add a movie poster to it to serve as a photo background.

You can even add some props for your guests to choose from, like a feather boa, cigarette holder, fake Chanel sunglasses, or a sparkly bowler hat and bow tie from a party store.
