Hey guys!

Can anyone tell me (Or give me a rough guesstimate) how much foundation blood Hollywood Dun It had? My filly is his great-great granddaughter (Pretty far down the line, I know), and I wanted to register her with the FQHA. Can anyone tell me how much foundation Hollywood had? Thanks!!!

  1. It won't just depend on Hollywood Dun It's percentage.  Which is 93.75%.  http://www.fqha.com/articles/Leading%20A...

Scroll down the page and he is listed under REINING.

The percentage is calculated throughout your horse's ENTIRE pedigree.  Going back to approximately the year 1901.

They will add percentage points for every single Thoroughbred in that entire time.  That's over 100 years that they will calculate...

I know there is FQHA....Foundation Quarter Horses Association

There is also NFQHA....National Foundation Quarter Horse Association

I also know that as of January 1997, the MAXIMUM allowable Thoroughbred blood is 20%.  If your horse has any more than that, it cannot be registered with NFQHA.  And it won't matter who is in her pedigree.  Don't know if that same percentage applies to FQHA.

Easiest way is to have them run the pedigree and research it for you.  Whether you choose the NFQHA or FQHA.

    **EDIT...FQHA's requirements...

Only horses that are 90% and above Foundation Quarter Horse blood are eligible for full FQHA registration.  Horses at least 85% foundation but less than 90% will be registered in the Appendix section

  2. I have always gone here: http://www.fqha.com/

and paid the $18 for the percentage calculation. I'm assuming that all the foundation registries calculate the foundation percentage the same. Hope that helps :)

  3. Hollywood Dun It, by Hollywood Jac 86 and out of Blossom Berry by Dun Berry, has a pedigree that yields an 88% foundation ranking.

Edited to Add that he  Receives #20,000 from NFQHA

  4. i actually dont know... sorry, but here is his pedigree:

thats really cool that your filly is his descendant!!
