Hollywood transforms into hockey town due to Los Angeles Kings -NHL Playoffs Update
Hockey has never been big in the city of angels, also known as Los Angeles but now, Hollywood is becoming accustomed to seeing some big hockey coverage for the first time since Wayne Gretzky joined the Kings team.
With the way Los Angeles Kings have surprised the National Hockey League (NHL) by not only dominating the top team in the game, the Vancouver Canucks, then going on to sweep the St. Louis Blues in a perfect four game series, hockey fans are really beginning
to come out into the open.
Getting the respect from fans did not come easy and Kings are back in the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 1993.
“It’s been a long haul, and we’ve been through a lot,” said Jarret Stoll. “There are guys who have been here even longer than me, and we’ve been through two first-round exits, some great regular seasons, and building something special here. Everything is
coming together at the right time. Things are clicking, but we’re only halfway there.”
With teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Dodgers in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Major League Baseball (MLB) respectively, the Kings have always been ranked third, but not anymore.
Kings have definitely come a long way from barely making the playoffs by being the eighth seed. Now, they are focused on even bigger goals, like being the first eighth seeded team in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup and by the way things
''It's a long time, and we're really happy with what we've achieved so far, but at the same time, we're not done,'' said Doughty. ''We knew all along we had the team to do it.”
Teenagers from various high schools have been seen to be supporting the Kings by wearing jersey’s to school, which has definitely raised awareness about the sport as well for those who were exclusively watchers of basketball or baseball.
As the Los Angeles Kings continue to wow the fans and league in total, Hollywood will just keep on increasing in terms of hockey crazy, making their chances of taking the Stanley Cup home even more exciting to anticipate.
