Holston Sophie corners the lineup for Owners Bonus Series on 20th February with exceptional credentials
The final of the Grade A6 Owners Bonus Series at Monmore is to be raced over 480 metres flat on Monday, 20th February. Six hounds will break out on the track for getting entitled to the £500 prize money.
Holston Sophie, Head Bound’s white and black daughter out of b***h Holston River, is trained by K. Billingham and is the most competitive contender on the lineup for the race.
She cracked through the 2012 season by getting positioned third but in the next four races that followed, Holston Sophie won twice and was the runner up in the remaining.
After posting a victory on 27th January, the two-year-old was second in a Grade A6 race on 2nd February, raced over 480 metres. The race was won by Boozed Girl.
Holston Sophie was entered as a 7/4 favourite in her next race on 9th February, which she finished second against Catunda Suarez. Finally on 16th February, she won the first heat of the Grade A6 Owners Bonus Series at Monmore.
Holston Sophie was the 6/4 favourite for the race and raced through the 480 metres’ track in 28.73 seconds.
She has sustained her performance while racing twice as a favourite which reflects her potential of getting another race under her belt, along with being a heavy favourite third time in a row.
Elderberry Zen, Boherduff Light’s three-year-old black dog out of b***h Droopys Breda, posted his seasonal debut victory very recently. Under training P. Cowdrill, he won the second heat of Owners Bonus Series on 16th February at Monmore raced over 480 metres.
The 7/4 favourite for the race, King Rabadabadoo, was positioned second.
Today will be the seventh time that Elderberry Zen will race during the new season.
The four-year-old dog trained by P Slater, Steeple Rd Gooch has raced in 2012 seven times already and was positioned second in his most recent outing.
He was second in the Grade A6 Owners Bonus Series – Heat 1 on 16th February at Monmore, raced over 480 metres.
Holston Sophie and Steeple Rd Gooch have raced together before and dominated the first two positions of the race. How would the outcomes divert today and in whose favour, will get disclosed very soon.
