already prepared himself for an exit in the summer transfer window.
“I thought long about the decision I've made. I want to take my chance to fulfil my dream. I have dreamed about the Premier League since I was a boy. I have asked myself many questions. What happens next year? Is it too early?
Schalke's offer was good, but did not work out,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the 22-year-old stressed that Tottenham is a great club which has been doing really well in the league this season. The player added that he has had a talk with manager Andre Villas-Boas and is satisfied with
the plan the club has for the future.
“Tottenham are a top club and I'm fulfilling my dream. Negotiations with Schalke were initially advanced, but then I looked over it all carefully again. I have spoken to Andre Villas-Boas and I am confident in his plans,” he concluded.

club on a free transfer at the end of the season.
