Question:

Holy Communion? Please help?

I'm not baptised.

But my sister is a devoted Roman Catholic.

In her wedding, I was a groomsman. In the Cathedral, I HAD to consume that thing the reverand gave.

From that moment I feel that I did a very bad thing. It keeps coming into my mind. Am I wrong?

  1. A long , long time ago....before vatican2, the wafer of the body of Christ was considered sacred and was only to be handled by the priest to the tongue of the recipient. If it fell to the ground by accident.......a whole new ritual had to be performed to apologize to God for the transgression. Nowadays, no big deal. take it in your hand, take it home. put it on your dartboard or flush it. Nothing sacred in the host anymore at all. Don't worry about something that the catholics don't worry about either!

  2. No you should not have received. I'm surprised since your sister is a devout Catholic, that she would have allowed you to receive. She should have known that it would be an issue. She should have informed you that you were not to receive and instructed you to go up for a blessing instead.

  3. That all depends on your particular religion.  If you are a member of a religion that prohibits worshiping with other religions or taking part in their rituals, then you may have to repent, but otherwise it shouldn't be a problem.

  4. Talk to your sister, then maybe her priest.

You did not do a bad thing, but people will tell you many things, because of human rules. GOD totally understands.

It was your sisters wedding, and no one talked to you - so you had to do the difficult thing and not bring attention to this, thus keeping the day special.

You did nothing wrong keeping her day special.

But talk to her, and maybe her priest.

But please be at Peace - please.

  5. You wouldn't be the first person to do that. Don't beat yourself up about it. God still loves you.

Consider it a rare privilege, but don't let it happen again ... unless you become Catholic.

  6. You probably shouldn't have, if you are not Catholic. But it's not that big of a deal. Really, the priest should have known not to give it to you, or someone should have told you how to indicate to the priest that you wanted a blessing and not communion. It wasn't really your fault, so don't worry about it!

  7. when you take Holy Communion, you are remembering the Lord's death for us. The bread symbolises His broken body, which was burnt, pierced, scarred for our sins. When you eat the bread, you are declaring that He has born all your sicknesses and disease and injury on that cross, and as a result, I am HEALED!   The wine/grape juice/ribena represents His blood that was shed for the forgiveness of all our sins. When you partake of the blood, you are declaring how much God loves you and that you are now clothed in Righteousness.

This is what it means to partake in a worthy manner, by not fogetting what Christ did on the cross.  Holy Communion is a powerful weapon against disease and sickness. It has healed many of terminal cancer and fevers and colds, from the great to the small.   There is nothing wrong with taking Communion if you rememebr the Lord's death

  8. While non-Catholics are not supposed to take communion, you don't have to worry.  God won't hold anything against you, especially you didn't absolutely know that you shouldn't have taken communion.

  9. Are you christian?

if your not then your no better or worse than you was before. If you are then repent and ask God to cleanse you, that thing you ate is supposed to be the literal Jesus, but it aint as you know.
