Holy Ground hot favourite for The Brandon Seniors Trophy Heat 1
Holy Ground is expected to dominate proceedings in The Brandon Seniors Trophy Heat 1 at Coventry in England on Thursday, July 12, 2012. A victory will earn his owner a cash prize of £150 in the end.
The 485 metres flat race will test both stamina and speed of all the runners and only the best will finish on top of the table. The action is scheduled to start at 20:36 and the spectators will be looking forward to it.
On the other hand, the punters will also be hoping to win some easy money over Holy Ground, who has been delivering some terrific results in this class and has got plenty of experience. The bookmakers are also expecting him to steal the show and he deserves
it thoroughly.
The K. Tester’s trainee was competitive right from the start of his career, as he performed well in a few GR events in his debut season. He was then tested in some trial events and managed to do well in them as well.
These performances encouraged Holy Ground’s team to promote him to a higher level and he was sent into a Grade OR event for the first time in April 2010. He was rated as the least favourite to win back then, as there were some very good runners up against
him. There were no surprises from him in the end, as he finished right at the bottom of the table.
However, that defeat did not dent the confidence of the black dog and he kept on learning with the passage of time. He was finally able to win his first race in this class at Hove back in September 2010. He had been rated as the favourite to win back then
and lived up to the expectations of everyone.
The seasoned runner was brisk at the start of the race and took the lead pretty early. He managed to hold on until the end and no one was able to come anywhere closer to him, as he triumphed by four lengths.
Holy Ground’s recent form in this class has also been great, as he has won a couple of back to back races and is likely to complete a hat-trick of victories today.
