The Bayer Leverkusen CEO believes that the former Chelsea midfielder has failed to live up to expectations since rejoining Werkself in 2010.
The Bayer Leverkusen midfielder has come under scrutiny from the club’s CEO for being below par, since his arrival from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. The midfielder was
expected to lead his previous employers to something of note during his second stint but has failed thus far.
However, Leverkusen and Ballack are still in with a chance of turning things around with the second-half of the season left. Robin Dutt’s men are currently sixth on the league standings, eight points adrift of the top spot. Leverkusen,
though, will be heavily relying on their most experienced midfielder to see them through in the Champions League. Bayer will take on the reigning European champions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, in the knock-out stages of the competition.
Holzhauser stated that Ballack has been unsuccessful in proving himself at the BayArena and his performances have been rather disappointing. He mentioned that it is a fact which everyone must admit regardless of whatever is stored
in the future for both the player and the club.
While talking to reporters ahead of Leverkusen’s upcoming league game against Werder Bremen, the CEO further added:
"The time has come for all of us to admit that our thoughts of 20 months ago have not been realised."
On the other hand, Holzhauser insisted that Ballack is a big player and must be disappointed with his form. He stressed that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international will have to step up for the betterment of the club, and also added that
the veteran needs to reassess his behaviour.
"From http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Ballack-c25270 we expected more on a sporting level and he surely expected more from himself. He should think about whether his behaviour is for the good of the club. (Sports Director) Rudi Voeller and myself have talked
to him this week but unfortunately without success," the CEO concluded.
Ballack, 35, intents to play for two more years, but is likely to part ways with Dutt’s side once his contract expires at the end of this season. The midfielder’s next destination could be http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shanghai-Shenhua-c40497 or the Major
League soccer in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034.
