I'm considering buying a house but the ac/heater isnt blowing air out at all. We can hear it running and everything but we dont know whats wrong. Does anyone have any ideas of what the problem might be? Are we going to need a whole new one? Anything will help. -THANKS

  1. Have the house inspected before you buy it.  It could save you a LOT of money in the future.

  2. Either the damper is not opening or the blower is bad. I would NOT buy a house where the heater does not work. Tell them to get that fixed first.

  3. The indoor coil may be froze up blocking any air from circulating.

Look at the outdoor unit refrigerant lines to see if any ice or frost is visible.

If so the indoor coil is froze solid and will need to be shut down to thaw.

Possible causes are plugged air filter, faulty fan motor inside, or low on refrigerant.

A repair call may be all you need.

  4. The disconnect is probably off at the condenser.
