I'm want to start a home based computer repair business in Georgia, what forms/licenses do I need for it to be a legal business?

Before you know what to file for you will decide what type of business you will form. Is it going to be a sole proprietor or will you incorporate? If you incorporate you will decide what type, e.g. Chapter S or LLC?

First, get an EIN from the IRS. The forms are on their website. If you incorporate you will go to the Secretary of State website to download the forms you need there and to register you business name. You can incorporate without an attorney if you follow all the steps required by the SOS and the IRS.

Second, go to your county and city websites to see what licenses are required from them.
