Either my husband or I are always leaving Home Depot pi** off! I hadn't even talked to my friend about my issue.... and she was irritated about something that happend at the Depot. Her bad experience wasn't even the same Home Depot that I was at. I've never had one rude employee....but it seems no one knows anything about anything. I'd like some insite...how do you feel about Home Depot?

  1. Ugh.. yes. I hate Home Dept.. more expensive (though not by much) and the people are totally not helpful.

    I <3 Lowes.

Although, my husband worked at Lowes when he was a teenager and he was told in training that even if you don't know what you're talking about, you're just supposed to pretend you do, or get someone else to help. And if that person doesn't know.. they're supposed to do the same thing.

So take all the information with a grain of salt for any store like that! Thankfully my husband knows everything about fixing anything, so we know when the people are full of doodoo.

  2. There is a guy in the plumbing department at our Home Depot that is knowledgeable. But he's usually stacked up with other customers so if you have a simple question like "where can I find a condensate pump?", you are on your own. I find it very frustrating. I used to go to the local Ace hardware since they had competent help. Now they just have idiot college students who wouldn't know a left-handed monkey wrench if it hit them in the head.

Face it. Do-it-yourself means self-help to these folks. Phooey!

  3. i hate hate hate the "homo depot" i call it that bcse it's the gayest operation around.

they don't know their butts from holes in the ground.

not to mention their products are pos' too.

i bought clothes pins for my laundry line and they literally all broke when i used them

    THANK GOD FOR LOWES

not to mention jimmy johnson is a better nascar driver than cry baby tony stewart lol

  4. you are not alone.  I think all HD employees need are the ability to hide, give dumb looks, and pass a pee-in-a-cup drug test.  Even if they do hire a knowledgeable person, say a semi-retired electrician, they are likely to put them in the paint or garden department.

After nearly 600 pages of complaints, this blog was finally shut down for more comments.

I'm sure it varies greatly by location and even individuals, but in general, I prefer Lowe's, who at least have "need help" buttons that get answered within 30 seconds.  Best are the small stores where people know what they are doing.  Sadly, a lot of them are getting put out of business.

  5. They hire idiots for the most part that do not know what they are doing.

  6. me too. the people usually aren't that helpful. Thank goodness we have a Lowe's right down the street. Darn Big Box Shops!!
