When I plug in the hair dryer or vacuum cleaner or when the washer switches cycles, etc, the lights in the entire house dim but then go back to normal. What could cause this? Thanks for your help

  1. You first two answers are right on. Also you may have circuit wiring to small for the load that is being use but that still means same as your first answers say.

Also you may be on the end of a Power line then you will see this same problem at times.

    Still same answers lol.

  2. Do you have aluminum wiring?  May have resistance via wire type or loose terminals in circuits?  I have seen this issue with old wiring needing maintenance.

  3. I am an electrician, you may have some loose wires in your panel. But your particular problem is that all your appliances  be seem to on the same phase.

To correct this you need a licensed electrician,I do not recommend you open your panel and tighten any wires or change some of the circuits to another phase.

  4. Too small service entrance,or to far from transformer

  5. To much draw in that circuit.
