Home Invasion Robbery with a firearm?

I know a victim of this crime and I'm wondering how long the people that robbed him will be in jail. 2 16 year old boys and a 15 year old girl had robbed him. The boy who took the gun out was also charged with posession of over 20 grams of marijuana and resisting arrest without violence. All 3 have had prior convictions before. I know for sure one of the boys has been to jail twice and I know one of the times was for grand theft. They all live in florida. Is it possible they will be charged as an adult. What is the minimum and maximum sentence they can get. I sure hope the boys get at least 5 years.

  1. 16 yrs old...depending on the State...a Home invasion WITH a firearm...if charged as an adult...20+ years possible

    Pa Law

  2. Maybe 2 years.

  3. Well, if Florida is anything like California..don't count on jail time. Sorry.

  4. The 16 yoa suspects could be charged as adults. Somebody will have to push the DA hard to do that and then the DA must convince a judge that it is in the communities best interest to override the presumptive right of the juvenile to stand trial as a juvenile. The weapon and drug charges might enhance it enough to make the case. Be proactive and get the victims and all of their communtiy to contact the DA and push for the older suspects to stand trial as adults. If they stand trial as juveniles they will be released at the age of 18-23 depending on the FL law regarding juvenile offenders.

  5. Punks like that are the reason for buying a shotgun. The system will let them go or give them a slap on the wrist. I'll put them in the morgue if they try anything.

  6. Wont be charged as adults, 2-3 years max. Depending on past records. 3 years at the most.
