Question:

Home Renovation Process?

My husband & I just bought a home from 1898. We are going to renovate the property. (We're keeping the fine details that make this a wonderful period home. Restoration/renovation.) Does anyone know of a book that tells you the process of working with a contractor? We are hiring a project manager for this monumental project, but we wanted to have some idea of the process. Does anyone know of any books on remodeling/restoration? Not a do-it-yourself b/c we won't be doing the work ourselves. I've checked on several book sites & it offers me do-it-yourself books. Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. Sounds like the project is a big one so you'll need to know how to hire contractors, handle the finances, and keep yourself sane as everything comes together. You may not need a whole book--how about a couple of articles from This Old House magazine?
