I am home schooled, and I need to find out what my state's (AR) requirements are for high school graduation, i.e. how many credits I need to graduate. I tried google but couldn't find what I was looking for. Any one know a website or anything?

  1. HSLDA has a great web site with brochures and helpful links for that info.  If you go to the high school section, you will find plenty of info that shows you what is required minimally and for college bound students.

HSLDA stands for Home School Legal Defense Association

  2. In Arkansas, there are no requirements for coursework or recordkeeping - odd, since they have one of the strictest notification laws in the country.  Anyway, you and your parents decide your coursework and requirements - once you have completed those requirements, you're done and you can graduate.  Arkansas state law does say that you have to be enrolled in some form of schooling until you're 17, so if you're not yet, I would suggest to keep going even if it means classes at a community college :-)

    Hope that helps!

  3. Well, for graduation, as a HS'ed student, your parents give you the diploma, and you don't really need to meet the state's standards.  If you plan to go to college, then you're going to want to make sure you have all the credits/classes they require.  So that's the important issue.

You can go to the websites of colleges to find out the admissions requirements.

If you do want a diploma comparable to the public schools in your state (you can do MUCH better, btw), then go to the AR state board of ed:

This PDF lists the core requirements:
