So I kinda sorta dropped out of school, and I'm supposed to be going into my Sophomore year next year. Well I haven't gone to school since February, and I need to get all caught up. I really want to get into HOME SCHOOLING but IDK any good places to look.

I would like to do something online, so my mom doesn't have to teach me. So if you have any resources that'd be great.

  1. There are a number of resources you could use to help yourself catch up.  Make sure you stay focused and committed to your studies so you don't fall behind again.  You seem like a bright girl, so if you apply yourself, I'm sure you'll do fine.

Here's a list of computer courses you could try:

    Good luck!

  2. finish what you started, you will regret it if you don't.  stay confident and remember many successful people found their own success by not letting themselves become a failure through strength, courage and maybe even GOD. good luck on your journey.  remember no two people travel the same path and those who do are not genuine. be GENUINE and you will always be a success. :)

  3. Go for homeschooling! It's easy for those u can't handle REAL school!

  4. Well, BYU has a home school program online (google it or google the number for BYU, they'll tell ya)

Or, look for the "Thomas Jefferson education system".  That system is AMAZING!!! I LOVE IT TO DEATH!

Note that the latter option is supposed to be a "self-governed" education.  You have "Mentors" rather than teachers.  YOU choose what you want to study.

    :)  Good luck!!

  5. To look for a good curriculum go to

  6. you need to search for a good distance education center and when you search it would be wise to search for programs that are in your state or area. I would reccomend looking at local colleges for a distance education program for high school students thats what im in at The University Of Texas at Austin (UT). it would be easier for you to find something in your area but if not most of the education centers accept students in other states, its just that it would be more convenient for you if thats the type of homeschooling that your considering. Im only taking two online classes right now and you have a year to complete them the only thing is that you dont have a real teacher demanding you to complete assigments sp you really have to be independent and responsible but you should be able to handle it so you should just search around and mabey you could talk to the counselor at your previous high school and see what distance education program they use to follow their credit system so that youll have some type of structure to your education... i kno this is a very long message hopefully you'll read all of it and if you have any more questions feel free to email me i'd b glad to help ya out and good luck!

  7. I am 18 weeks pregnant. though I was already in alternative school that would keep me, I quit to get a full time job. So now, in 11th grade, I'm being home schooled for my first year, electronically. I am in Idaho,  the thing I'm going through is called iSucceed, i dont know if It's idaho based or not. But I got a full scholarship very easilly, and they're sending me a laptop. No mother-child bonding neccessary!

  8. my sister did homeschooling i think it's great (My  parent brainiest people that's what i think ) Now  she is a doctor

  9. Try sylvyn or something like that. you cant miss the commercial its on almost every channel. they will help you with whatever you need help with. hope this helps

  10. Ouch, you need real eduactional help and you are relying on us knuckleheads her at Y! Answers? god bless you my child, I would just try "Googling" it myself....

  11. Try http://www.edanywhere.com

You can do credit recovery, you can challenge courses if you already know the material.   You can do a customized program where they will test you first, and then only make you do the parts of each course that you NEED to study.

  12. James Madison High School (Online Homeschooling).

    Google it.

  13. Also, see about getting your GED. This is a general education degree. You go and take tests for about 8 hours straight with an hour for lunch, and then you're done. If you pass, you get your highschool diploma. There are books at your local library that can help you to study for the test.

I dropped out, too, when I was 16 because I was a troubled youth. I got my GED shortly after, but years later, after some life lessons, I enrolled in college and, to make a long story short, I'm 41 years old and have an Associates Degree (2 year degree) in travel, a Bachelors Degree (4 year degree) in Communication and a Masters Degree (6 year degree) in Education.

If you go to a junior college, they are just 2 year degree schools and they're really inexpensive. Then, provided you took courses that transfer to a 4 year school, you can transfer over and finish 2 more years to get your Bachelors. After that, work for a while, then take 2 more years and get a Masters.

You have your WHOLE life ahead of you. Just because you didn't finish highschool doesn't mean you can't be a success. Good luck to you!

  14. There are several online schools for teens, but they vary by state.  Start with googleing online high schools.  There are schools like "Connections Academy" that is in several states, you can try them.

It will all still be work, and with all that you have to make up it will be harder to make up and do your regular coursework for the year.  Most states still have requirements of what needs to be done.

good luck, and don't give up, you will need an education to survive in life!!!
