Home Speaker Project... HELP!?

Im am building a speaker that is going to have 2 woofers, 2 mids and 2 tweeters, i have a crossover, can i just hook em all up and they will run at 8 ohms? or how would i go about wiring these in a 8 ohm output?

  1. You need to wire in series/parallel combo to maintain a 8ohm load.  See the diagram at the bottom of the page in the link below.  If you wire them in parallel...you will blow the amp and create an unstable load.

  2. If you have properly-designed crossovers, they should be designed for 8-ohm speakers and present an 8-ohm load to the amplifier.  Effectively, the crossover allows only one speaker within a given frequency range to connect to the amp, so the speakers are neither in series nor in parallel.
