Yesterday i bought a movie off of Xbox Live, and i didnt even buy the HD version of it, but i was stunned by the definition of the movie, and wondered if it could get any better (i was watching the movie on my standard def TV). I'm not oblivious to hi-def, being that i have a 720p WestingHouse in my house, but i'm wondering:

Will buying an hd, dlp projector ruin the image of movies/ games etc.? Because i know that in order to get a good image, you have to buy one with good specifications (which is what i would be doing), but is it possible that i can get a really bad picture from hd, or is it always a plus to get an hd tv compared to standard def?

  1. well thats exactly what i thought too.

but when i got a 42 inch sony hd tv(1080i) the quality just blew me away.

    it is awesome.

n now it wont ruin your gaming because xbox 360 is also hd so just get the correct cable (hdmi cable) and it will take your gaming to another level too.

  2. Feythe, I understand your dilemma, studies were done on this very subject, because so many females couldn't tell the difference between HD and standard definition.  They determined that men were actually more visual while women were more visceral.  Hence why men can easily pick up on all the sharpness and clarity of HD.  Trust me, my girlfriend is the same way, she couldn't tell the difference if it bit her.  Now this isn't for all females.

To the OP.  As long as you do your research and the projector acn display 1080p content with good specs, then no, you cannot ruin the HD content.

  3. you will get what you pay for, understand that this technology is still pretty "new" and the expansion of HD is not complete or universal yet.

I was reading that they are working on making and elite HD, kinda like a high definition for high definition, (much better than blu ray or HD dvd)

I would recommentd a mitsubishi projector, I have had immense success and enjoyment out of them

  4. We have an HDTV and my husband insists on watching the HD version channels of programs on our cable.  I can't tell the difference.  I can switch back and forth, back and forth, between the regular broadcast version and the HD version, and I can't tell.

My Husband swears there's a big difference, but he can't describe to me what that difference is.  He is just mind-blown that I can't "tell by looking".

PS - I have 20/20 vision, he wears glasses.  I doubt that makes any difference, but I figured someone would read my response and say, "well maybe she's blind" LoL
